WEST HARTFORD — Get in the holiday spirit on Thursday, Dec. 5 with West Hartford’s classic New England-style 32nd annual Holiday Stroll at Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center.

This free, family-friendly annual event has something for everyone. Come meet Santa & Mrs Claus, see the a Holiday tree lighting, sample lots of tasty treats, peek inside West Hartford’s fire trucks.

Entertainment is showcased on two stages; one at Webster Walk in Blue Back Square and the other at the corner of Farmington & Lasalle. The stage at Blue Back Square will feature performances by Conard H.S. Be S#arp, L’Shir A Capella, Urban Hope Refuge, Ballet Hartford & Sweetest Key. The Center Showmobile will hold performaces by the Schecter Singers Choir, Ballett Theater Company, Trinity Trintones, Farmington Avenue Music Academy and a sneak-peek of “Merrilee Mannerly” by Playhouse on Park. ASL translators will be at select performances. This service is being provided by American School for the Deaf.

Your favorite mascots from local sports teams will be available for meeting and photo opportunities.

Stop by the First Church of Christ, 12 South Main St. for their Festival of Trees. You won’t want to miss this eclectic display of trees decorated by local businesses, orgainzations and individuals.

Kaoud’s Rugs, 17 South Main Street will feature a menagerie of animals from The Children’s Museum.

Stroll the streets of Blue Back Square & The Center to see the beautiful window displays created by West Hartford’s imaginative shop proprietors.

Isham Road in Blue Back Square will be closed to car traffic for special activities including horse-drawn wagon rides. Connecticut Children’s will sponsor activities including caricatures by Bonnie Sullivan and face painting by Jenna Rodriguez, the Face Painting Mama. Learn more about Connecticut Children’s PJ Day for the Kids, which is an opportunity for students and business partners across the state to show support for patients at Connecticut Children’s.
