Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra hosts lawn concert

FVSO’s 2017 lawn concert on the grounds of First Church Farmington

FARMINGTON — “The Movie Music of John Williams” will be featured at the annual Lawn Concert of the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra, Sunday, June 9, 6 p.m. on the grounds of First Church, Farmington, 75 Main Street, Farmington.

The program, to be conducted by Music Director Jonathan Brennand, will offer popular music from several great motion picture scores by John Williams, including “Star Wars,” “Jurassic Park,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “”E.T.” and “Hook.” The program will also include the “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” by Williams as well as other summer favorites.

Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and picnic supplies. The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. Parking is available on Church Street at the Barney Library, next to the church.
