HARTFORD — Multi-talented musical clowns Patty and Giggles from Canada’s top clown band will be bringing audiences of all ages to their feet, singing, dancing and laughing with magic, antics and award-winning original tunes from their four hit CDs for their first ever appearance at Hartford Fringe Festival. Shows are online via Vimeo from Oct. 9 through Nov. 9. Tickets are $10, with Festival passes priced at $99, according to an email from organizers.
On the heels of five-star reviews at Edinburgh Fringe, Sphere Clown Band presents a brand new production, Countdown to Clowntown. Kids are invited to participate from their homes, online, with singalong songs and fun actions. Giggles transforms into multiple animal characters as she introduces the Clowntown Zoo. Patty takes the audience to her Musical Instrument Garden, complete with an accordion, flute, keyboard, drum, and guitar. The catchy original songs are sung live and played by Patty on a variety of instruments from her Garden.
“Not only are we having fun with the audience, but the children are learning important lessons and skills while participating,” said Patty. “We’re thrilled to be sharing those with families in Hartford.”
Since 1977, the band has not only delighted children but also educated them on many important topics, including safety, fitness, animals, sharing, musical skill-building, and self-concept development.
With international sales of nearly 100,000 books and more than 100,000 CDs, Sphere Clown Band has proven that they can transform their energetic and fun stage performance to disc with four award-winning recordings. A highly-professional touring troupe, Sphere Clown Band has received plaudits from both press and, possibly more important, praise by their young fans and families.
The group was National Spokespeople for Canada’s National Kid’s Day. Along with television network appearances on CBC, GLOBAL, CTV, YTV, CITY-TV, CBC RADIO, SHANGHAI TV and SINGAPORE TV 12, Sphere Clown Band has thrilled audiences in festivals and on concert stages in Canada, Singapore, China, Russia, Europe, the U.K., and the U.S.
