WEST HARTFORD — The artwork and poetry of Kingswood Oxford middle school students, along with art from Watkinson and Renbrook School students, was selected to the exhibition, called “Our Work, Our Choice,” said an email from the school.
It is so named because students — rather than adults — decide which pieces from each school will be included. English and art students then write explanatory labels for the art, which are also part of the exhibition.
The final result of this cross-curricular project creates a wonderful exhibition and collaboration and offers the students the opportunity to express themselves and craft their creative voice through a variety of mediums.
This year’s Kingswood artists are:
Nico Bromley ’25 of Hebron
Olivia Gordon ’24 of Avon
Eleanor Farquhar ’26 of West Hartford
Chelsea O’Donnell ’24 of West Hartford
Norah Pond ’26 of Windsor
Sophia Radmanovich ’24 of West Hartford
Charlotte Sorenson ’24 of West Hartford
Kelly Stepnowski ‘24 of South Glastonbury
Erin Westfall ’24 of Bristol
Fin Zeytoonjian ’24 of Hartford
The “Our Work, Our Choice” exhibition was started in the late 1970s by art teachers from Kingswood Oxford, Renbrook School, and Watkinson who wanted to showcase their students’ artwork as well as nurture the visual arts community among independent middle schools.
