WEST HARTFORD — Brian McClear of West Hartford was recently awarded Best of Show in the West Hartford Art League’s 13th annual regional exhibit CT+6 for his oil painting “Water Melon.”

CT+6 is open to artists from Connecticut, New York and all of New England. This year’s juror was Tula Telfair, a painter and professor of Art at Wesleyan University in Middletown.

Brian was awarded a $1,000 cash prize and a one person exhibit in one of the Art Leagues two galleries. Sixty nine works of art in all mediums were accepted into this exhibit out of more than 500 entries that were submitted, according to an email from organizers.

Donna Namnoum of Canton was awarded Second Prize for her ceramic piece, “Budding Tower,” and Richard Kudler of New Hampshire was awarded Third Prize for his fused glass piece “Convergence of Diversity.”

The exhibit is on display through Oct. 11 in the Saltbox and Clubhouse Galleries located at 37 Buena Vista Road. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Masks are required and only eight people are allowed to enter the gallery at one time.
