The state’s emissions testing program is experiencing technical problems Wednesday, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The issue was reported on the DMV website before noon. It’s unclear when the issues began, what caused them or when they are expected to be resolved.

The DMV said drivers can call 888-828-8399 for more information. The number leads to an automated message with a variety of options. Callers can press extension three to request an extension for their emissions test.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
