HARTFORD — Three families were displaced by a fire on Brown Street early Thursday morning, according to the fire department.

Units were dispatched to Brown Street between Wethersfield and Franklin avenues around 4 a.m. for a reported structure fire.

Officials said “heavy snow impacted” fire fighting operations. Still, officials said, crews were able to get all occupants out of the house safely.

Initial dispatch reports indicated there was fire inside the walls of the home. Units quickly extinguished the flames once all occupants were out of the home.

Three families of 14 people — for a total of nine adults and five children — were displaced by the fire and relocated. Personnel from the American Red Cross helped those displaced.
