Hartt School’s 100th celebrated with book, talk

WEST Hartford — In celebration of the Hartt School’s 100th anniversary, Demaris (Dee) Hansen, Professor of Music Education, will present a talk based on her new book about the history of The Hartt School said an email from Hartt School.

The presentation will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m., at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2080 Boulevard, West Hartford. Admission is $5 for the general public, and free for members of the Musical Club and students.

In this engaging presentation, Professor Hansen will make use of the many anecdotes she discovered during her research, and will also explore connections between The Hartt School and The Musical Club of Hartford.

After Hansen’s formal presentation, Hartt School Dean Larry Alan Smith will moderate a Q&A session, followed by a book signing and reception hosted by the Hartt School. Autographed copies of Professor Hansen’s book will be available for purchase ($25).

The venue has ample free off-street parking, and is handicapped accessible.
