WEST HARTFORD — Beth David Synagogue will host its annual Super Bowl party and raffle, a major fundraiser Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at the 20 Dover Road shul in West Hartford, said a release from the organization.

The fourth annual event includes a $1,000 grand prize. Other prizes include use of vacation homes on Cape Cod or Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The fundraiser supports a number of synagogue initiatives, including heightened security measures, implemented after the rise of anti-Semitic incidents across the nation. Other projects the event supports include expanded children’s programming; chesed (or loving-kindness) meals for new parents, grieving families and synagogue members who are ill or recuperating; and unexpected building repairs and maintenance.

Tickets are $50 each, and those who sell four get a fifth one free. Each ticket provides entry to the party, a chance to win the raffle, as well as food and drinks. Children under 10 are invited for free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

The event will include big TV screens to watch the game, a chili cook-off, wings, an array of beers as well as non-alcoholic beverages and games for those uninterested in the Super Bowl.
