Founded by West Hartford residents, Dan and Kelly Clark and Dan and Laura Moran, Johnny’s Jog for Charity, Inc. is inspired by the incredible, brave life of a young boy, Johnny Moran. Johnny was born with a rare and debilitating condition. The unwavering love and support, provided by a myriad of individuals and organizations, helped Johnny fight every challenge thrown his way. To celebrate Johnny’s resilience and strength during his nine inspirational and smile-filled years, Johnny’s Jog for Charity plans to bring the community together yet again to celebrate Johnny’s life and give back to deserving non-profit children’s organizations.

Co-founder, Dan Moran, says, “we are so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from family, friends and the community of West Hartford. Ten years ago we never imagined this event to grow to be 1,000 participants and raise close to a half a million dollars. The generosity from volunteers, sponsors, donors and participants is overwhelming. We can’t thank them enough.”

Johnny’s Jog for Charity has raised $434,000 for local children’s organizations in the past nine years. Last year the 5K brought together over 1,000 participants — the most yet. 125 corporate sponsors and raised $90,000 for the local children’s organizations they support annually.
