Person suffers burns in West Hartford fire, officials say

Firefighters kept a fire contained to the room of origin at a Prospect Avenue home in West Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, officials said.

WEST HARTFORD — One person was taken to the hospital to be treated for burns following a fire over the weekend, according to fire officials.

Around 6 p.m. Sunday, crews responded to a Prospect Avenue home for a reported structure fire.

Fire officials said the first unit at the scene found a working fire and immediately deployed a hose line to extinguish the flames. Crews held the fire to the room of origin.

One person was transported to the hospital for burns, according to fire officials.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
