HARTFORD — City police are investigating after an early morning shooting rattled a neighborhood near Hartford Hospital.

Police said the city’s Shot Spotter system registered 16 shots fired in the 100 block of Seymour Street, an area just a few blocks north of the hospital, around 4:50 a.m.

Officers responded to the scene, where they found “multiple shell casings and blood,” police said.

They were then called to a nearby hospital, where a victim had walked in with two gunshot wounds. The wounds were not life-threatening, police said.

Officers canvassed the area but did not find any suspects in the shooting.

The department’s crime scene division and major crimes division are investigating, police said.
