WEST HARTFORD — Authorities shut down the entrances to the Westfarms Shopping Mall as it was closing Wednesday night for a reported bomb threat, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the mall on a reported bomb threat around 6:20 p.m., Capt. Michael Perruccio said.

He said West Hartford police and fire units responded, along with Farmington police. Law enforcement officers searched the mall and found “nothing suspicious,” Perruccio said.

The mall was about to close when the threat was made, Perruccio said. He said some area streets were temporarily closed during the investigation.
