WEST HARTFORD — WeHa Brewing & Roasting is about to open as the latest business development in the city. Amid the pandemic shutdowns, these expert brewers and roasters are using the downtime to develop the artisanal retail establishment; a coffee roasting company and brewery which will use its own small-batch craft coffee in a variety of its beers on tap, according to an email from the company.
Beers will include coffee stouts, New England India pale ales and fruited sours, among many others. Coffee blends will be named after neighborhoods and areas in West Hartford — Blue Back Blend, The Center Blend, Elmwood Blend — as well as single-origin coffees from Peru, Honduras, Colombia, Ethiopia, and others.
The founders see the space as a communal gathering place, where people can come together and feel at home, whether it’s in the morning, afternoon or evening.
“I live in West Hartford now and immediately fell in love with the town because of our sense of community,” said CEO Cody McCormack, whose non-profit work will extend to brewhouse events for Furry Friends Foster & Rescue, Hero Boxes and Hartford Youth Services Corp., and other West Hartford non-profit organizations.
To further its mission of community involvement, the team has made investing in the brewery available to the public. Retail investors can make a 1.5x multiple in exchange for their participation in financing the completion of the build. Details can be found at https://bit.ly/32P8EZT.
