WEST HARTFORD — The Town of West Hartford recently gave notice that it will submit an application to the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection under Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. 1341 (401 Water Quality Certificate), according to an email from the Town.

Specifically, the Town proposes to replace the Fern Street Bridge over West Branch Trout Brook (Bridge No. 04081) and realign and reconstruct the channel of the brook and west side of a man-made pond within Fernridge Park. The proposed activity will take place at 567 Fern Street in West Hartford. The proposed construction will potentially affect West Branch Trout Brook and a man-made pond.
