HARTFORD — House Chair of the Public Safety Committee, state Rep. Joe Verrengia, D-West Hartford, announced that West Hartford resident Dawna Capps-Evans has been named to the Connecticut Lottery Corporation Board of Directors.
Capps-Evans, an insurance and management consultant, is joining the 13-member board that oversees all CT Lottery operations, including games and retail vendors.
The Lottery Board is appointed by the governor and legislative leaders. Capps-Evans was named by the Speaker of the House.
“I congratulate Dawna on this appointment — I am sure she will be a great asset and the Lottery Board of Directors will benefit from her expertise, work ethic and experience,” said Rep. Verrengia, who chairs the legislature’s Public Safety Committee which has jurisdiction over gaming in the state
“This is a great opportunity to apply my work experience to the Connecticut Lottery Corporation Board of Directors and I am very pleased to have been appointed,” Dawna Capps-Evans said. “I look forward to the work ahead and to confirm the confidence placed in me by Speaker Aresimowicz and Rep. Verrengia.”
