WEST HARTFORD — West Hartford will hold an electronic waste, paper shred and cardboard collection event on Saturday, August 8, from 8 a.m. to noon (*May end earlier if capacity is reached), according to an email from the town.

The event takes place at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford. Residents will enter at 50 South Main Street and exit via Raymond Road.

Accepted items include:

Electronic waste: computers, cell phones, printers, small appliances (for a complete list visit Take2recycle.com)

Cardboard

Paper to shred

Residents MUST adhere to COVID-19 safety precautions as outlined:

Stay in car

Wear a mask

Material must be in vehicle trunks or pickup truck beds. It is important that items are in easily accessible areas, separate from the cabin of the vehicle to ensure social distancing while removing items. *Only items being disposed of should be in this area*

Take 2 Electronics, Valley Green Shredding and DPW staff will remove material from residents’ vehicles wearing gloves and masks. When called on please open the trunk and stay in your car

Shredding will be drop and go. There will be no waiting while it is shredded.
